Orange County Group was founded in the year 2005, humbly, with the construction of a single tower, 42 apartment project at Pashan-Sus Road in Pune, named after the Orange County, a populous county in California, by one of the group’s first clients, who was working then in Infosys and hence his US connection. The initial residents of Orange County-I were the young Indian software engineers: young, global, open, intelligent and ambitious. They drove the group to think about the international measures and best practices in construction.
But the real story of Orange County Group began when Mr. Sandeep Sonigra, the founder of the group and a Civil Engineer himself, saw a wind mill atop a building somewhere near Vashi, while going to Mumbai, from Pune, and had a vision of reinventing construction process in India with the help of modern but available technologies and invention of new technologies where there is none, to create a new, green, sustainable, urban lifestyle in India that will be contemporary but not far from the old Indian traditional living values.
